marcello donadello “Room of mirrors (…) house of mirrors”...so, I've been warned: silly me, looking for a well-known, reassuring reality. A guitar gently playing like a child on a tire swing, a voice making fun of my predictions with subtle delays and anticipations, making that same tire spin on itself in a burst of joy, then coming back to the calm of a boat cradled by the waves.

“To be seen not heard is a worrying thing”; well, she has nothing to worry about: same acoustics of the theatre in Epidaurus, here.
Favorite track: Salt.

James Trainer This is an incredible album. Anna's voice is beautiful, the lyrics are really well written and she delivers them perfectly. The album and music is so visual and the cover matches the mood of loneliness in a big empty place. But it's totally joyous not downbeat. Light punching holes in the dark sky. Salute the magpie and shoot the crow, a celebration of ritual and life. Totally and beautifully absorbing. The biggest plus is the band, amazing playing and arrangements. Love it more each day. Favorite track: Mannequin.

Twin 05:17
Vague memories In the narrow streets of Lausanne We ran through red to the park and we swam Train tracks screaming in the dead of night Hard city light tends to swallow you whole Faint memories, corrugated hindsight Same few words and same thing repeating Plastic flowers cast across the tarmac Dogs in the ditches full eyes from the fumes Oh what empty hours you keep The waiting isn’t hard it’s the let down of the words you speak Sometimes things are better left unsaid instead Waited in the wings of the morning for you Sometimes things are better left unsaid instead Linger if you will we are strangers still Sometimes things are better left unsaid instead Waited in the wings of the morning for you Sometimes things are better left unsaid instead Linger if you will we are strangers still Old enemies in the empty streets of Lausanne Under glare of a questioning moon Gather dust and guilty time for this Oh lover I know how it feels Trees evergreen blinking in the car lights Took ourselves west somehow passing the time Fever dreaming in an empty pool high walled and blue Pull us out of it sometime soon Sometimes things are better left unsaid instead Waited in the wings of the morning for you Sometimes things are better left unsaid instead Linger if you will we are strangers still Sometimes things are better left unsaid instead Waited in the wings of the morning for you Sometimes things are better left unsaid instead Linger if you will we are strangers still Sometimes things are better left unsaid instead Waited in the wings of the morning for you Sometimes things are better left unsaid instead Linger if you will we are strangers still

For a Time 04:25
Lilacs on the porch and the naked trees dripping Amber leaves soaking right through to my bare skin Great, grey river, carving out a deep rut Fields leeching down through the darkened mud Gather on the gravel, watch the windows smoke fill Alarm sharp carving up a deep sleep with it Rosettes round the door frame, 20 years hanging Jaws of gold teeth in the light they are glinting London sun, burning our skin Dazed with the heat of repeating the same thing London sun, burning our skin Want for a time where we never had been Miss it the odd time but somehow things have changed Neighbour’s swimming pool with a rope swing to it Suffocating smell of the chlorine in it Eucalyptus bark with our teeth we were tearing Pulling at a thread of a time worth forgetting Dinner bell rings out a waiting game Came for familiar, left for the same Years of watercolours, burning in the garden Door slam last word one more for the road London sun, burning our skin Dazed with the heat of repeating the same thing London sun, burning our skin Want for a time where we never had been London sun, burning our skin Dazed with the heat of repeating the same thing London sun, burning our skin Want for a time where we never had been Miss you the odd time but somehow things have changed

Mannequin 06:40
Might have been otherwise I think of it sometimes The ritual, the give and take Mirrored in the things we say Fuschia burns a summer road Asphalt melts as we watch Absence can you feel it on your skin Porcelain alive eyes still Leave me to my own imagining The spectacle, the mannequin Waiting as night leaves blood red crescents in its wake Inevitable end to what we made Nothing’s ever meant to stay the same Isn’t that the way of it they’ll say Isn’t it the way of it always When I was younger, a watcher on the side Did I do it right? Birds play havoc in the hours before dawn Could have been otherwise I Believe in it sometimes The ritual, mistakes we make Mirrored in the things we say Eaten by the very words we sow Salute the magpie, shoot the crow Waiting as night leaves blood red crescents in its wake Inevitable end to what we made Nothings ever meant to stay the same Isn’t it the way of it always Isn’t that the way of it they’ll say When I was younger, a watcher on the side Did I do it right? Birds play havoc in the hours before dawn

Coralline 07:57
Decorate my days While here Everything ends Theatre You are midnight maze I’m told Am I better without? Can you tell? With or without? This carousel Just a matter of time Sinking in long gone lakes instead By design, False illusion leaves me stranded out White noise bring me sleep Falling sky, never easy alone Caught in motion, frozen on the riverbed Carousel Room of mirrors in the land you live Lose me Theatre House of mirrors in the world you built Drifting Theatre Ghost line never enough Morning star hangs glacier cold Half flood half fire, reason to begin again Sea, devour me now Red red coralline, down my spine Caught slow motion, shadow-like passerby Carousel Room of mirrors in the land you live Lose me Theatre House of mirrors in the world you built Drifting Theatre Room of mirrors in the land you live Lose me Theatre House of mirrors in the world you built Drifting Theatre

Salt 06:18
I sometimes think that I have Never the hang of it this Transient thing of, time that is let me Dress your day in tomorrow’s sun you’ve been Keeping to yourself but, it’s warmer outside than in We see we saw a thousand moons and counting this Curious trait of turning cheek and hearsay The stories waver and the statues burn if it’s Fiction you believe curtain fall if you please Salt flat sun down with your magnet eyes Overhead birds cry in a sideways sky Land of all lost hours I fear I’m wasting time Oh observer tell me, where your mind lies Salt flat bleach white and the horse flies Sweet trip in the sweat of a restless night Desert rock face shy in the car-lights Oh observer tell me, are you satisfied Climb sister climb the sun is ablaze in your eyes Climb sister climb the sun is ablaze in your eyes Wide eyes, wide eyes, wide eyes Salt flat sun down with your magnet eyes Overhead birds cry in a sideways sky Land of all lost hours I fear I’m wasting time Oh observer tell me, where your mind lies Salt flat bleach white and the horse flies Sweet trip in the sweat of a restless night Desert rock face shy in the car-lights Oh observer tell me, are you satisfied Climb sister climb the sun is ablaze in your eyes Climb sister climb the sun is ablaze in your eyes Wide eyes, wide eyes, wide eyes Wide eyes, wide eyes, wide eyes

Seraphim 05:13
Seraphim Lying in your pale skin Whisper low God forbid they hear our woes Holes in the ground and we’re bound to fall in To be seen not heard is a worrying thing Glass eye, see through the lies they tell Sit alone wicked wish on our tongues Holes in the wall where the ice creeps in To be seen not heard is a worrying thing To be seen not heard is a worrying thing So we stand Drinking up the last of the light Common ground watch it disappear Holes in the sky where the night slips in To be seen not heard is a worrying thing Seraphim Dancing in the way you did Whisper low, god forbid they hear our woe Holes in the ground and we’re bound to fall in To be seen not heard is a worrying thing To be seen not heard is a worrying thing Why do you hold your head so low?.. Why do you hold your head so low?.. Take me far away from the crowds Take me far away from the crowds, oh the maddening crowds Take me far away from the crowds, oh the maddening crowds Take me far away from the crowds, oh the maddening crowds Take me far away from the crowds, oh the maddening crowds Maddening crowds Crowds

Go ‘way from my window Go ‘way from my door Go ‘way way way from my bedside And bother me no more And bother me no more I’ll give you back your letters I’ll give you back your ring But I’ll never forget my own true love As long as songbirds sing As long as songbirds sing Go on tell all your brothers Tell all your sisters too The reason that my heart is broke Is on account of you Is on account of you Go on your way be happy Go on your way and rest But remember dear, you are the one I really gave the best I really gave the best Go ‘way from my window Go ‘way from my door Go ‘way way way from my bedside And bother me no more And bother me no more

Red Sun 05:33
Oh lucid eye Red sun waits for none Paint you in the scenery Suspended in a frame Worth it just to keep you near Keep you just the same, keep you just the same Oh lucid eye, If by chance we meet Hold your tongue and make believe Distance is a sound I know Momentary ground Oh lucid eye Red sun stays or now Everything it turns to rust Luminous and strange Cold mirage indifferent Metal bright Weightless, weightless, weightless Oh lucid eye Lost in one of many minds All your many other lives Sky cascading as you fall Weightless Oh lucid eye Red sun waits for none Paint you for the novelty Frozen in a frame Something to remember you by Keep you just the same, keep you just the same
